THE EUCHARIST.

The Eucharist is one of the most sacred acts of Christian worship. It was instituted by Jesus Christ on the night before His crucifixion when He shared bread and wine with His disciples. Through this holy ordinance, believers remember Christ's sacrificial death, celebrate His resurrection, and proclaim the hope of His return. During the Last Supper, Jesus took the bread, gave thanks, broke it, and said, "Take, eat; this is my body." He then took the cup and said, "Drink ye all of it, for this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins" (Matthew 26:26–28, KJV). These words remind Christians that salvation was purchased through the body and blood of Jesus Christ. The Eucharist is not merely a religious ritual. It is an act of faith, thanksgiving, remembrance, and fellowship with Christ. As believers partake of the bread and the cup, they reflect on the love of God, examine their hearts, and renew their commitment to live in obedience to Him.

The Apostle Paul instructed believers to approach the Lord's Table with reverence and self-examination. He wrote, "But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread and drink of that cup" (1 Corinthians 11:28, KJV). This teaches that the Eucharist should never be taken carelessly but with repentance, humility, and gratitude. The Eucharist also expresses the unity of the body of Christ. Regardless of background, nationality, or status, all believers who belong to Christ are one family through His sacrifice. It reminds the Church to walk in love, forgiveness, and peace with one another.

CONCLUSION: The Eucharist is a sacred remembrance of God's greatest gift through Jesus Christ. Every time believers partake of the bread and the cup with sincere faith, they remember the cross, celebrate the grace of God, and look forward to the day when they will feast with Christ in His eternal kingdom. May every participation in the Eucharist draw us closer to the Lord and strengthen our walk with Him. Amen.
