Welcome to my website! I am Benda Yin, an Assistant Professor of Accounting at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). I received my Ph.D. from Duke University's Fuqua School of Business in 2025.
My research focuses on the role of accounting information in the capital market and in the banking system. My current research addresses topics such as the effects of accounting standards on information in stock prices, the transmission of depositor contagion through peer banks’ earnings information, the impact of timely reporting of insider trading on insider trading profits, and the extent to which management forecasts incorporate macroeconomic news.
