Late Day Learner Information
Belvedere Elementary School PTA is pleased to provide a variety of fun and educational after school enrichment classes. These classes are available to all students and offer a daily combination of scholastic, music & arts and athletic activities. Classes are held throughout the academic year, in three 8-week sessions: fall, winter and spring. Class times are 4:15-5:15pm, Monday-Friday.
Participation Guidelines for Parents
The LDL Registration Form is sent home in every student’s Wednesday folder. To register, send your completed form and payment to school with your child or bring them to the main office. No forms will be accepted after the designated deadline. All classes are filled on a first come, first served basis and in accordance with the minimum/maximum number of students required per class.
You will receive confirmation of your student’s enrollment in each class.
You will be refunded if:
the class is canceled due to low enrollment
the class is marked full
Please make your check payable to “Belvedere Elementary PTA” and submit it with your registration form. There will be no refunds after the first class.
Students in the Free and Reduced Lunch Program receive a 50% discount on each class. Financial assistance is limited, so these students may receive 1 reduced class per session.
If you wish, you may pack a healthy, single serving snack for your child to have before the after school class begins
At 5:15pm, all students are picked up and signed out in the school lobby. SACC students are escorted back to the SACC room. A LDL Administrator will supervise the students until they are all picked up. Children are not permitted to wait outside. Students who are repeatedly picked up late may be withdrawn from the program.
Policies and Procedures
Students enrolled in LDL will be directed to the appropriate after school classroom when school is dismissed. All Belvedere teachers will have a list of students enrolled and will help younger students get to their assigned locations.
A LDL Administrator will check attendance in every class and will call you if your child is absent (and was not on the school’s absentee or excused early list).
All students are expected to behave appropriately during class. Any incidents of disruptive or inappropriate behavior will be reported to the student’s parent/guardian. Repeated incidents may result in the student’s withdrawal from class.
Classes will not meet -
on federal holidays
on teacher workdays
if school is canceled due to hazardous weather
if after school/evening activities are cancelled due to hazardous weather
If a class is canceled, every effort will be made to make up the class at the end of the session.
We welcome your help to run the after school program. There are many opportunities to help, including becoming a LDL Administrator who is responsible for attendance, supervision and departure - in exchange for a free class.
