Welcome to Bellaire HS AP Computer Science Principles course!

This innovative and exciting AP course is an introduction to the foundation of modern computing. The course covers a broad range of foundational topics such as the Internet, digital data, programming and algorithms, big data, digital privacy and security, and societal impacts of computing. We will primarily use the Code.org Computer Science Principles curriculum. You can learn more about the curriculum at https://code.org/educate/csp.

The AP CS Principles College Board Assessment consists of two parts:

  • the Create performance task (programming project) due Monday, May 2, 2022 (submitted through Digital Portfolio)

  • the end-of-course AP Exam on Monday, May 9, 2022 12PM (paper in school)

Both measure student achievement of the course learning objectives. Every student in AP CS Principles is expected to take the end-of-course AP exam and submit the Create performance task.
