Founded in 2010, the Belilios Old Girls’ Chinese Orchestra (BOGCO) comprises former students of Belilios Public School Chinese Orchestra (BPSCO). The mission of the orchestra is rooted in a dedication to music, embracing joy in music performances, and upholding the legacy of promoting Chinese music, a tradition passed down from our time in BPSCO. BOGCO not only nurtures its musical endeavours but also provides diverse support to young girls. Through various musical activities, the orchestra maintains a strong connection with its alma mater, contributing meaningfully to the preservation and propagation of the cherished spirit of Chinese music at Belilios Public School. Noteworthy events including organising the BPSCO 25th, 30th and 35th Anniversary Concert in 2013, 2018 and 2024 respectively. In 2020, a collaboration with BPSCO led BOGCO to participate in the “HKCO Net Festival - Through Musicking, We Are One” organised by the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra, where their performance stood out among the top 13 entries published on the official public playlist. The orchestra was also featured on the RTHK-2 radio program, ‘Made in Campus’, discussing their efforts in uniting young girls through during the pandemic, fostering sisterhood bonds and sharing the joy of music. BOGCO has actively contributed to commemorating the milestones of their alma mater, participating in the Belilios Public School’s 120th, 125th, 130th and 135th Anniversary Concerts. Furthermore, the orchestra has been recognised as a guest performer at the La Salle College Old Boys' Concert, Diocesan School Old Boys' Association Music Extravaganza and Tune of Pandora Annual Concert and has engaged in various activities for social welfare organisations, such as the Rotary Club of Peninsula South, Lamma Island (North) Rural Committee and Shui Hong Nursing Home, bringing warmth and the essence of Chinese music to the broader community.
