I have a strong statistical background in analyzing and developing methods with observational and pragmatic clinical trial data. My current research interests include biostatistics and epidemiology, with a particular focus on causal inference, machine learning, integrating machine learning in the causal inference framework, risk prediction modelling, causal mediation analysis, time-varying treatment, and complex surveys.
Recent news
My recent work on how machine learning can revolutionize health care was highlighted in the media/news. External link
I guest lectured on machine learning with survey data for a PhD-level course (SPPH 604-001) at UBC SPPH. Some slides
I have presented at BCCDC on developing a statistical model to supplement unobserved risk factors in prediction modelling. Slides
