In general, learning software is any type of computer software specifically programmed and developed for learning purposes. They usually take the form of tutorials, exercise programs and general information transfer programs. The learning content is mostly clearly defined, follows certain didactic concepts and is aimed at certain target groups. In contrast to larger terms such as teaching software or educational software, the term learning software describes a group of products which have common characteristics. The use of learning software is called e-learning. The boundaries between a learning software and a digital example are not clearly defined.
