Becky's Receipts started the way a lot of apps do — out of frustration.
I just wanted something simple to track my expenses. Nothing fancy. No syncing to the cloud, no monthly subscription, no "connect your bank account" setup wizards. Just a place to log what I spent, snap a photo of the receipt, and see where my money was going at the end of the month.
Every app I tried either wanted my financial credentials, charged me monthly for features I didn't need, or buried basic tracking behind a wall of complexity. I didn't want a financial advisor in my pocket. I wanted a notebook that could read receipts.
So I built one.
Becky's Receipts is that notebook. It lives on your phone, keeps your data on your phone, and does exactly what it says — tracks your income and expenses with as little friction as possible. Point your camera at a receipt and it fills in the details. Add a payment in a few taps. See your month at a glance.
That's it. No accounts. No cloud. No ads. No subscription. Your data is yours and it stays on your device.
The Pro upgrade exists because building and maintaining an app costs time and money, and I'd rather charge once for extra features than show you ads forever. If the free version does everything you need, that's great — use it. If you want charts, export, and the ability to make the app truly yours, Pro is a one-time $2.99.

That's totally the help email account for a much cooler app (FunFX) which you should go check out, when it comes out. At the moment its still in Beta Testing, but look for it if you need a simple fun soundboard with pretty cool features, no subscription, no adds, and very few options for in app purches.
What is Becky's Receipts? A simple app to track your income and expenses. Snap a photo of a receipt, and the app reads the vendor, amount, and date for you. Everything stays on your phone.
Is my data private? Yes. All your data lives on your device. We have no servers, no accounts, and no way to see your information. Read our full Privacy Policy for details.
Do I need to create an account? No. Just open the app and start tracking. No email, no sign-up, no password.
What can I do for free? You can track up to 35 total entries (income and expenses combined), scan receipts, view your dashboard, create custom categories, and choose from preset accent colors.
What does Pro unlock? Unlimited entries, the ability to edit existing entries, search and filter, dashboard charts, daily reminders, CSV export, and full appearance customization (RGB color mixing, photo wallpapers, custom fonts, and icon styles).
How much does Pro cost? $2.99, one time. No subscription, no recurring charges. You pay once and it's yours forever.
Can I restore my purchase on a new device? Yes. Go to Settings → About → Restore Purchases.
How does receipt scanning work? Tap the + button on the Expenses tab, choose "Scan Receipt," and take a photo of your receipt. The app uses on-device text recognition to read the vendor name, total amount, and date. You can review and edit everything before saving.
Can I export my data? Yes (Pro feature). Go to Settings → Export Data. You can export income, expenses, or both as CSV files — handy for tax time or bookkeeping.
Can I change the app's name on the dashboard? Yes. Go to Settings → Personalization → App Name and type whatever you'd like.
Can I create my own expense categories? Yes. Go to Settings → Categories → Add Category. You can pick an icon and color for each one. You can also create a new category on the fly by selecting "Other" when adding an expense.
How do reminders work? A Pro feature. Go to Settings → Reminders, toggle on Daily Reminder, and pick a time. You'll get a gentle nudge to log your receipts each day.
My data disappeared after updating the app. This can happen if the app's data structure changed significantly between versions. Unfortunately, if this occurs, the data can't be recovered. We recommend using the CSV export feature periodically to back up your records.
The receipt scanner didn't read my receipt correctly. The scanner works best with printed receipts on a flat surface with good lighting. Handwritten, faded, or crumpled receipts may not scan well. You can always edit the scanned results before saving.
I purchased Pro but it's not showing. Try Settings → About → Restore Purchases. If that doesn't work, make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID you used for the purchase.

Becky's Receipts does not collect, store, or share any of your personal data. Period.
None. Your income entries, expenses, receipt photos, and app settings are stored entirely on your device using Apple's built-in data storage. We have no servers, no databases, no analytics, and no way to see what you put in the app.
The app requests access to your camera and photo library solely to let you photograph receipts and select background images. These images never leave your device.
If you enable daily reminders (a Pro feature), the app uses Apple's local notification system to send you a reminder at your chosen time. These notifications are generated on your device — no data is sent anywhere.
Purchases are processed entirely through Apple's App Store. We do not receive or store any payment information. Apple's privacy policy governs all transaction data.
We use zero third-party SDKs, analytics tools, advertising frameworks, or tracking services. The app does not connect to the internet for any purpose other than processing In-App Purchases through Apple.
We do not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under 13.
If we ever update this policy, we'll post the changes on this page with a new "last updated" date. Given that we collect no data, we don't anticipate significant changes.
