Art is not just a form of expression, it is also a form of inspiration, of raising human beings to an almost divine level of consciousness. This project is for all those who believe that art can save, that the power of contemplating something beautiful can bring hope to people.
Beauty Matters
Imagine a world without human presence. How would it be? If we suddenly disappeared or never existed, what would our planet be like today? The landscape would be dominated by an abundance of wildlife, filled with plants, animals, rivers, mountains and vast ecosystems. Nature would reign freely, without the human interference and disturbances that currently threaten the planet's biodiversity and sustainability. In short, we would have a beautiful planet full of life.
However, if we turn our gaze to the past, history presents us with moments of chaos and destruction. Imagine the horrors of World War I and II: wounded soldiers, deafening explosions, incessant gunfire and the nauseating smell of gunpowder and blood. Or, think of the slums of Rio de Janeiro, dirty and polluted streets, people walking in fear, crowded houses, men showing hastily tattoos done in prison and women with vulgar clothes, trying to survive in a hostile and unequal environment. In these settings, it is difficult to find beauty and harmony.
God created everything with perfection and beauty, and human beings have the ability to value and appreciate that beauty. Through art, architecture and music, we can express the beauty of the world and our own lives. Unfortunately, in our post-modern world, some artists try to misrepresent art, producing meaningless and unbeautiful works. Most people are afraid to criticize these works, fearing being considered "politically incorrect". However, true art must be beautiful and meaningful, and must be able to inspire and uplift people. This sense of beauty is rooted within us as much as ethics and morals.
You don't see in ancient scriptures some civilization that boasted of injustice, murder, lying. Some values are universal, they are rooted deep in our souls, just like beauty. When you see something beautiful, be it a sunset, a flower, a bird, a landscape or the face of someone you love, somehow you feel as if this is right, and you enter a contemplative state, where life is worth living.
But if you see life as a screen that only shows the bad things, it loses its meaning. You don't feel the same way being in a suburban center full of chaos and being in a forest by a creek. We brought ugliness into the world, so why put it on a pedestal and be proud of our shame?
Beauty matters because it is part of Creation, it reflects its own Creator. So screw modernity with its cheap idealism. A glass on a shelf, a can of excrement, an unmade bed, a pile of rubbish on the floor, these are not art, they are a way of corrupting what is good in us, what is good in life, what is good in Creation. No wonder the number of people with depression increases every year. Where is the beauty, where are the colors, where is the Life?
My advice: artists, paint, sing, sculpt what is beautiful, show people the good side of life, inspire them to be better. We get so caught up in the routine that we do everything on automatic, and forget to feel, to contemplate, to connect with God, with nature or with someone. We've lost that skill over time, but real art can restore it. And for everyone else, be beautiful, inside and out, seek personal development and connection with the spiritual, so that you can connect with the beauty of life and the world around you. Before leaving home, get ready as best you can, not for yourself, but to give your beauty to the world. This project aims to rescue true art, the art that inspires, that brings out the best in people, the art that builds and elevates the human being, the art that comes from the Divine that dwells in us. The world needs it, today more than ever.
