Biography

Born in Alexandria. She started learning the piano at the age of 4. participated in school performances like plays and quires at the age of 5, and by the age of 9 she performed her first solo on the piano. She wrote her first poem at the age of 7 in English, and the first Arabic poem at the age of 10.

Her voice and music taste was early influenced by Arabic legends such as Sayed Mekkawy, Mohamed Abdel Wahab, and Abdel Haleem Hafez, and some American legends such as Mareah Carey, Whitney Huston, and Michael Jackson which will later on appear in her compositions.

She composed her first song at the age of 14 along with 3 other English pop songs. Discovered her ability to compose contemporary slang Arabic songs after her first music work shop with the Egyptian Grammy winner Fathy Salama, who -along with other respectable musicians- encouraged her to sing her own material, and started her first band under the name of S.M.S in 2008.

By that time, she had already participated in a few concerts in both Alexandria and Cairo, and a few acting jobs. Noha has also taken singing classes with Mordy, Belal El Sheikh, Wael Nasr, Mohamed Ali, and Ahmed Harfoush. Still living in Cairo mostly known as a rock singer since she started her tribute band Scorpionism in 2001 as well. Till now, she has written over 200 poems in both languages, composed over 30 songs in Arabic and English as well, studied English, French, and Arabic literature, worked as an actress and as a camera woman in a few films, and currently learning the guitar as well as continuing to learn music theory. Noha's first joined band was Redeemers where she sang Gothic metal right before she retired to the existentialistic idea of documenting her perspectives in pieces she can sing about humanity, politics, and society. She also fulfills these passions by doing voluntary work and social and political activities. In summer 2010, she had the privilege and honor of meeting her ultimate idol Ziad Al-Rahbany, who has taken interest in her work as a singer and as a song writer, as they both share the patriotic rebellious notions and creations.

Her latest project is a remix for her English originals with DJ Lasheen, to be released in the near future. So far, the promos of these tracks are being played by other record labels DJs in different countries.

Other than that, the Egyptian political circumstances continue to provoke her with more controversial Arabic originals.
