Last Revised: October 29, 2025
This Privacy Policy explains how ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use BD Music (the "App" or "Services"), or when you otherwise interact with us.
By using the App, you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
Scope
This Policy applies to our mobile application and any in‑app features, including local music library scanning, playback controls, notifications, optional analytics, and optional advertising (if enabled for your region).
Important: Your local audio library (file names, titles, artists, albums, durations) is processed on your device for display and organization and is not uploaded to our servers.
What Information We Collect
Personal identifiers you provide:
- Email address, name, or other details you choose to provide when you contact us for support or feedback.
On‑device media information (processed locally):
- Audio metadata such as title, artist, album, duration, and file path may be read locally to organize and display your music library. We do not upload this information to our servers.
App activity and diagnostics (optional):
- Crash logs and performance diagnostics (e.g., session stability, error traces).
- Basic usage events that help us improve the App (e.g., feature usage counts), only where permitted.
Device and app information:
- Device model, OS version, app version, language, time zone, device identifiers (e.g., Android Advertising ID if ads are shown).
Approximate location:
- May be inferred by third‑party partners (e.g., via IP address) for ads compliance, analytics accuracy, and fraud prevention. We do not collect precise (GPS‑level) location.
User‑initiated content:
- If you send us messages (support/feedback), we will process them to address your inquiry.
- If you use the optional “download by URL” feature, the URL is processed on device to fetch the media. We do not store or transmit your provided URLs to our servers.
We do not knowingly collect sensitive categories of data.
How We Use Information
- Provide, maintain, and improve the App (including local library scanning and playback).
- Personalize basic App experience (e.g., language, non‑sensitive UI preferences).
- Optional analytics, research, and development to improve reliability and features.
- Optional advertising (including contextual and, where legally permitted and with consent where required, personalized ads).
- Debugging, fraud prevention, security, and abuse detection.
- Communicate with you regarding support and important updates.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
Legal Bases (EEA/UK/Switzerland where applicable)
- Performance of a contract (to provide the Services you request).
- Legitimate interests (e.g., app security, service improvement).
- Consent (e.g., personalized ads or analytics where required). You can withdraw consent at any time via in‑app or device settings.
- Legal obligation (e.g., responding to lawful requests).
How We Share Information
We may share information:
- With service providers and partners that process data on our behalf under contractual confidentiality and security obligations (e.g., Google AdMob / Firebase for ads/analytics/diagnostics, if enabled).
- For legal reasons, to comply with applicable law or enforceable governmental requests; to enforce our terms; to protect users and the public.
- In connection with a corporate transaction (e.g., merger, acquisition), subject to continued protection under this Policy.
We do not sell your personal information for money. Some U.S. state privacy laws may treat personalized advertising as a “sale” or “share.” See “Your Rights and Choices” for opt‑out options.
Advertising, Analytics, and Third‑Party Partners
We may use third‑party SDKs that process device identifiers (including AAID), IP address, app interactions, and approximate location for ads delivery, attribution, analytics, fraud detection, and performance measurement. Key partners (and their policies):
- Google AdMob / Firebase — policies.google.com/privacy
Where required (e.g., EEA/UK), we use Google’s UMP/consent tools or equivalent to collect and store your ad/analytics consent choices.
Local Library Processing
- Your media files and metadata are scanned and organized locally on your device. We do not upload your local library to our servers.
- Uninstalling the App removes App data stored by us, but does not delete your personal media files on the device.
Data Retention
- We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, or as required by law.
- Analytics/diagnostics data may be retained by partners for up to 24 months, after which it may be aggregated or anonymized.
- If you request deletion (where applicable), we will delete or de‑identify your data unless retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes (e.g., security/fraud prevention).
Security
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration.
Your Rights and Choices
- Consent management (EEA/UK/Switzerland): Grant/withdraw consent for personalized ads and analytics via our consent dialog (UMP) or in‑app controls (if provided). Withdrawing consent will not affect the lawfulness of prior processing.
Note: your local media library resides on your device and is not uploaded to our servers.
- Personalized ads controls:
- Android: Settings > Google > Ads > Opt out of Ads Personalization (or device settings for Advertising ID).
- In‑App: If provided, toggle personalized ads/analytics off.
We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling your request. Some rights may be limited by law or necessary business needs (e.g., fraud prevention, legal compliance).
Data Safety (Google Play Disclosure Summary)
- Collected data (directly or via third parties): contact identifiers you provide (e.g., email if you contact us), device/other IDs (AAID), app activity (non‑sensitive), diagnostics, and device/app info; approximate location may be inferred by partners.
- Purposes: app functionality (including notifications and playback controls), analytics, ads (if enabled), fraud prevention, security, and communications.
- Data sharing: with service providers/partners under contract; we do not sell personal information for money.
Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post updates in the App and update the “Last Revised” date. If changes are material, we will provide additional notice where required by law. Your continued use of the App after changes become effective means you accept the updated Policy.
