Services

Mr. Bishop provides forensic examination services of documents including:

• handwriting, hand printing, and signatures,

• alterations to documents such as additions, subtractions, and obliterations,

• indentations and physical matches,

• inks, paper, printing processes, and machine produced.

Qualifications

Brett Bishop began his three year apprenticeship with the Washington State Patrol Crime Laboratory Division in Forensic Document Examination in 2005. He has testified in Federal, Superior, District, and Juvenile courts in Washington. He has worked cases from Alaska, California, Idaho, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Montana, Oregon, and Washington. He is a member of the American Society of Questioned Document Examiners, the Southwestern Association of Forensic Document Examiners, the Scientific Working Group for Forensic Document Examination (Secretary), the International Association for Identification, the Pacific Northwest Division of the International Association for Identification, and the National Institute of Standards and Technology Organization of Scientific Area Committees Questioned Document Subcommittee. He has a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Eastern Washington University.
