- We are recruiting passionate researchers at BCTR LAB, including postdoctoral fellows, master’s and PhD students, and undergraduate research interns. If you are interested, please send a brief self-introduction to sunyoungpark@kangwon.ac.kr to arrange a meeting schedule. (Office: College of Biomedical Science, Building A, Room 213)
Our laboratory focuses on developing a comprehensive biomedical convergence platform that integrates exosome research, gene therapy, advanced bioinformatics, and point-of-care applications.
First, we are establishing an exosome-based diagnostic and therapeutic platform by excavating disease-specific extracellular vesicle (EV) biomarkers such as miRNAs, proteins, and circRNAs. To achieve precise and efficient analysis, we apply microfluidics technologies for EV isolation, enrichment, and detection, enabling sensitive and reliable diagnostic approaches.
Second, we are engaged in the development of next-generation gene therapies, including CRISPR and RNA therapeutics. In parallel, we design delivery systems using EVs or nanoparticles to ensure effective and safe transfer of therapeutic agents to target cells.
Third, our group emphasizes bioinformatics and AI-integrated analysis. By combining multi-omics datasets, we build AI-based prediction and diagnostic algorithms that contribute to precision medicine. These approaches allow us to design customized treatment strategies tailored to individual patients.
Finally, we are advancing point-of-care testing (POCT) technologies, aiming to develop rapid and accurate diagnostic systems that can be directly applied in clinical settings. Through this, our research is translated into real-world healthcare applications, providing tangible benefits for patients.
