Will Brown is a musician's musician.
This distinguishes him from most "performers" in the sense that he is all about serving the muse. This fact has not been lost on the many well-respected Maine musicians he has accompanied over the past forty years — including Gordon Bok, Cindy Kallet, Grey Larsen, Anne and David Dodson, George Fowler, and Sara Grey, to name a few — who value his versatility, his considerable chops, and his knack for finding all the right notes.
He has been a guest performer and has led workshops for The Folklore Society of Greater Washington several times since 2012, and his arrangement of Going Away (his favorite Utah Phillips song) was included in the 2009 Grammy-nominated compilation, Singing Through The Hard Times.
Will's arrangements of songs and tunes from the folk, Appalachian, Maritime, Celtic, and transatlantic genres, are like musical comfort food — artfully prepared, tastefully served, and perfect for warding off December's chill.
Special guest Willy Clemetson will join Will for some tunes and songs. He is a fiddler and song-crafter with a passion for living traditional music and grew up with the fiddle and guitar here in Belfast.
He has since toured with a variety of projects, including the choral group Northern Harmony and the bands Spintuition, Springtide, and Heartwood.
Living in one of the hidden stashes of incredible folk music in Maine, he has developed a deep gratitude for the genuine connection and community that music inspires.
