Andrew J. Dillan serves as the Chief Operations Officer of BB Wendy’s and the Press Secretary for the Department of Education (BUSA). Andrew’s educational journey began at the University of Tennessee, where he earned his first degree in Broadcasting. His passion for communication, media, and leadership soon led him to join BSPN as a commentator, where his sharp insight and engaging personality made him a recognizable voice in the Bloxburg sports community. However, his ambition didn’t stop there. Wanting to expand his knowledge and strengthen his business skills, Andrew later returned to the University of Tennessee to pursue further studies in Business Management, Accounting, Marketing, and other key areas of business administration. This advanced education gave him a comprehensive understanding of what it takes to build, manage, and sustain successful organizations.
Andrew’s professional career is marked by both entrepreneurship and leadership across several well-known Bloxburg businesses. He began his journey as the founder of Rocket Bites, a small food venture that showcased his creativity and innovative spirit. Though the business eventually closed, it became a valuable learning experience that helped shape his future as a leader and entrepreneur.
Building upon those lessons, Andrew went on to found Bloxburg Buc-ee’s, where he served as Chief Executive Officer and Founder. Under his leadership, the brand thrived, becoming a standout name in the community for its quality, efficiency, and welcoming atmosphere. His success with Buc-ee’s showcased his ability to take a simple concept and turn it into a thriving, customer-centered enterprise.
Following his time at Buc-ee’s, Andrew continued his rise in the restaurant industry as Chief Executive Officer of In-N-Out (Bloxburg). During this period, he collaborated closely with Judy Warren of the Department of Education to create and implement healthy food programs for schools, giving students access to nutritious meals and promoting wellness across Bloxburg. This partnership earned Andrew recognition for his commitment to both business growth and community service.
Andrew’s expertise and communication skills later led him into the public sector, where he currently serves as the Press Secretary for the Department of Education (BUSA). In this role, he manages communications, media relations, and public messaging, helping to share the Department’s goals, initiatives, and educational programs with the broader public. His combined experience in broadcasting, business, and leadership makes him a natural fit for bridging the gap between government and community.
At BB Wendy’s, Andrew works closely with CEO Brandon Mikes to oversee daily operations, strengthen company culture, and ensure every location delivers on the brand’s promise of quality and hospitality. His operational expertise, business knowledge, and people-first mindset make him an essential part of BB Wendy’s ongoing success and growth.
When he’s not managing company operations, appearing at press briefings, or working on education initiatives, Andrew enjoys mentoring new business leaders, developing creative restaurant ideas, and relaxing with his favorite BB Wendy’s meal — the Dave’s Single.
