I am creating an application that will have multiple images on the screen, these images will be buttons and when tapped will play a short sound. I researched this and could only find the current method I am using to play sounds, which does not seem responsive at all. I want that the sound plays quickly and is responsive to many rapid taps. I was unsure if this was even possible in Android.

My lag issue could also be perhaps down to the way I am using the media player object? I do feel that this should be smoother on my phone, any suggestions on how to play sounds in Android is appreciated.

I am using SoundPool to play sfx sounds in a game on Android. In most cases it works perfectly, except sometimes I need to stop all sounds at once not pause (doesn't matter if they are set to loop or not).I can't figure out how to stop a sound from playing without knowing the StreamID of that sound. What I know:

My question is, how can I stop a sound without knowing the streamID ? I tried tracking all streamIDs in a list, but sometimes there are so many short streams playing at once, that it won't work. And I can't find any method in SoundPoolto get the active streamIDs. Does anyone know how to stop all sounds? Any hint is appreciated! thanks

It is important to differentiate between noise level and time-weighted average noise exposure. While noise levels describe the intensity of sounds at a given point in time, the NIOSH exposure limits are set as time-weighted average exposures over periods of time. If noise level measurements consistently exceed 85 dBA, we recommend that you follow up with a professional such as an industrial hygienist or an occupational safety and health specialist to conduct a professional noise survey at your workplace. I would definitely upload more sounds if this feature was added. I also wish there was a option to change the life stage when you upload it. I would add adult, nymph, etc to all my photos if this was added.

I agree with the approach of taitsougstad, simply having (in a first stage) the possibility to upload sounds via the app would already be great. After this the system could be refined (up to an ID suggestion system as currently with the images?)

I jsut got a new samsung phone and installed the Ring App, Logged in and everything looked ok but then I noticed I was not getting any notifiction sounds for the Alarm Door sensors. I went to the device settings, Chipr tones and you can select any of them but there is not sound that actually plays.

I went to my ring doorbell and the motion sounds and am only able to select exisiting system sounds, there is no ring sound folder or ring sounds installed at all on the phone anythwere. I can set to other tones on the doorbell device but you can only choose menu items for the Alarm / Alarm sensor devices.

Ok, I tried to install the apk from the play store off of another android phone and used Apk Extractor to send the same apk that was downloaded off of the play store to my de-googled android phone. Installed it and push notifications are still disabled.

On the degoogled-phone:

a. Enable bluetooth;

b. Adjust the android settings to allow bluetooth to install applications;

c. Install the received NextCloud Talk;

d. Reboot or wait a couple of days for notifications to pick up.

The latest Android 13 update (from yesterday - 22/7 2023 - as I write) has changed the sound of my alarm. All my defaults/settings are correct and unchanged. The sounds play correctly when I check them, but when the alarm actually sounds to wake me in the morning, the sound is different. Does anyopne else experience this issue? Does anyone have a suggestion how I can fix it?

If you want the default notification or ringtone sounds it's Settings.System.DEFAULT_NOTIFICATION_URI, Settings.System.DEFAULT_ALARM_ALERT_URI or Settings.System.DEFAULT_RINGTONE_URI in place of R.raw.whatever.

Open the left navigation menu, tap the Gear icon at the bottom, and then select Settings. In Notifications under Mail or Calendar, you can adjust push notifications or turn them on or off for your Mail (All, Focused, or None) and Calendar, and choose sounds for each.

Use this free program on your computer, tablet, or phone. This app features clear pronunciation of the sounds of the phonograms (letters and letter combinations). Hear all 72 of the basic phonograms as taught in All About Reading and All About Spelling.

Great observation! The Phonogram Sounds app covers the "basic phonograms" that are used in the majority of English words. There are additional sounds and advanced phonograms that are taught in the final levels of All About Reading and All About Spelling. These are used in only a small percentage of words, and we don't want to confuse students who are in the earlier stages of learning to read. For example, we don't have younger students learn phonogram GU because beginning readers would be confused by more common words like gum and gulf. Students in the upper levels of All About Reading and All About Spelling are ready for these more advanced sounds and phonograms.

Some sounds, like /r/, are difficult to capture on audio. Without a vowel sound before or after, they are unintelligible. We recommend that parents work with their children to ensure that the child is saying the sounds correctly. If the child is having any difficulty, you may want to demonstrate the sound in person.

Tap Turn on now to enable Separate app sound, and then set the options for App and Audio device.

Do not disturb: Do not disturb allows you to block sounds and notifications while this mode is turned on. You can also specify exceptions for people, apps, and alarms, and set a schedule for recurring events like sleep or meetings. To find this, swipe down from the top of the screen to open the Quick settings panel, and then tap the Settings icon. Tap Notifications, and then tap Do not disturb. You can configure settings for Do not disturb, For how long, Sleeping, Add schedule, Calls, messages and conversations, Alarms and sounds, Apps, and Hide notifications.

I think a recent update this past week did something. (android or Arlo) No settings changed, and the notifications now show but are silent. I have changed multiple settings, re-installed app, reset android settings. Nothing helped.

I'm not sure, but I am HAPPY to say that as of this morning, my notification sounds are back!!! I have my phone set to DND, and arlo notifications are loud and clear!! Woot woot! Thank you arlo for fixing issue, I am back in love my arlo security cameras!!!!!!

Can't install the app? You should be able to use the BBC Sounds website on your device, instead. Type bbc.co.uk/sounds into your internet browser to listen to live radio, on-demand programmes, podcasts, and music mixes.

That is not even close to what the person wanted. We don't want to turn the notification sound on and off, we want to make it play a different sound for different apps. There is no way to do that in Settings > Sounds. There used to be a way to set different sounds for different apps. ff782bc1db
