Bidding after our opening 1NT takes place according to Rubensohl scheme if:
  1. The first opponent bid: 2♣/2♢/2♡/2♠;
  2. The second opponent passed.


Bidding after opening 1♣/1♢ takes place according to Rubensohl scheme if 
(limits are raised by +3 HCP):
  1. The first opponent bid: 2♢/2♡/2♠.


Answers as far as possible:
  • double - penalty, 10+(13+) HCP;
  • 2♢/2♡/2♠ (in order of interpretation):
      • in the opponent suit - 7+(10+) HCP, one major four or both majors or void;
      • in the our suit - 7-9(10-12) HCP, non forcing, 5+;
  • 2NT/3♣/3♢/3♡/3♠ (in order of interpretation):
      • 3 in bellow the opponent suit - major four, 10+(13+) HCP, forcing;
      • bellow the our suit - 5+, 7+(10+) HCP, inviting;
  • 3♠ - both majors, 10+(13+) HCP;
  • 3NT - balanced;
