The following timeline is from the portfolio made by the University of Malaga's Vicerectorate of Culture:
1922 - Born in New York.
1936 - Visits the Museum of Modern Art in NY for the first time. Discovers the works of Picasso, Dali, Duchamp, Juan Gris, Braque and others.
1939 - Travels to Mexico. Stays with Marta Echaurren at her house in Tasco. Works in the Taller de Gráfica Popular en Mexico City with Leopoldo Méndez and Alfredo Zalce.
1940 - Enters Harvard University.
1942 - Volunteers for the U.S. Army Armored Reconnaissance Battalion and fights on the European Front under General Patton. Awarded the Bronze Medal for heroic action in combat. When the war ended, he returned to the USA to continue his life as an artist.
1946 - Bought a little house in Rhode Island. Begins to exhibit at local galleries and at group shows in NYC.
1949 - Earns a living by designing and building country houses. Designs prefabricated houses for a building company.
1955 - Moves to NYC and renovates his first house there.
1957 - Travels to Spain on holiday and is so impressed by Andalusia that he decides to stay.
1959 - Buys a small property close to the village of Churriana, Malaga.
1961 - Exhibits for the first time in Spain. Sala Neblí, Madrid.
1964 - Participates in a group show at the Malaga Museum.
1965 - Visits Caresse Crosby at her castle in Rocca Sinnibalda, Italy. Starts working in sculpture, using iron to make abstract pieces.
1966 - Exhibits at the Modern Art Gallery in Milan.
1967 - Returns to Andalusia. Exhibition at the Caja de Antequera savings bank in Antequera, Malaga.
1969 Exhibition at the Pramm Gallery in Stockholm, Sweden.
1970 - Takes up residence in London for ten years. Exhibitions in Art Basel, Chicago, Toronto, Boston and Los Angeles under the Jonathan Poole Gallery, and at the Aaronson Gallery in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. Starts sketches for for the Big Drawings.
1981 - Returns to Andalusia and plans to travel to India but decides to stay in Spain.
1983 - Buys an old, abandoned sausage factory the mountain village of Gaucin, Malaga. Turns it into a large studio with adjoining house. Starts painting again, and continues work on the Drawings of Our Lives.
1987 - Exhibition of sculptures and the Drawings of Our Lives at the Cruz Herrera Museum's art gallery in La Linea, Cadiz.
1988 - Participates in a group show at the Manuela Vilches Gallery in Marbella.
1991 - Becomes part of the permanent collection of the Galeria H art gallery in Marbella.
1994 - Exhibition of sculpture and the Big Drawings at the El Ingenio in San Pedro de Alcantara in Marbella.
1995 - Solo exhibition at the School of Architects exhibition hall, organised by the University of Cadiz.
1999 - Solo exhibition at the Tudores Gallery in Marbella.
2001 - Participates in a group show at the Sala Alameda in Malaga.
2007 - Solo exhibition of the Big Drawings at the Sala Alameda, organised by the University of Malaga.
2012 - Passed away from long term illness.
