Results of the Persian Wars
The wars with the Persians had a great effect on the ancient Greeks. The Acropolis in Athens was destroyed by the Persians, but the Athenian response was to build new buildings on the Acropolis, such as the Parthenon, which we can still see today.
In Greek art, there are many depictions of Greeks fighting Persians. Greek plays also feature the Persian enemy. The wars also resulted in cooperation between the Greek city-states, as they had to fight together in order to defeat the Persians.
