For many years, the Shire of Greyhope has stood at the heart of a simmering dispute, its lands claimed by both Constellation and Midlands. Now, the tension has reached its breaking point. The Battle For Greyhope
This will be a day of competition. Individuals from the knowne world will have the opportunities to represent either Constellation or Midlands in their claim for the Shire of Greyhope. The winning side of each category will be awarded 5 points (20 points available). At the end of the day the points will be tallied and a winner will be declared.
Martial Activities: The MiC for the relevant activity will keeps score throughout the day and report which region is victorious.
A&S and Classes: Participants in each activity will receive a token that they can use to show support for a region.
Service: Participants that volunteer for event jobs will receive a token that they can use to show support for a region.

Class Name: Those Damned Acanthus - Drawing Acanthus Leaves in Different Styles
Description: Scribes! Have you ever been frustrated by your ability to draw acanthus leaves? Have you given up on including them in your scrolls? This class gives a brief overview of Acan- thus leaves as shown in manuscript art through the 1300s to early 1500s, followed by practice drawing them.
(Please note, this is a new class that has not been taught before, so student feedback is encouraged!)

9:00AM CDT: Lists open for authorizations, inspections, and warm-ups
10:30AM CDT - Noon: “Claim the Shire” Team Tourney: A Bigger, Better, Longer Rapier Version of "Horse"
· The winning team will claim the Rapier activity points for the Battle of Greyhope competition.
· The tourney will begin at 10:30 and run until one team completes the word “Greyhope” or until time is called.
· Participants will sign up at the list table to join either the Constellation or the Midlands team. Each team will select a Captain who will choose their fighter for each bout.
· Each team member must fight at least once; after that, Captains may decide who will fight any further bouts.
· One pass per bout; double kills will be re-fought once. On the second double kill, both combatants leave the field and neither team receives a letter. Weapon styles by agreement – C&T permitted if a marshal is available.
· The winner of each pass adds one letter to their team’s word on the display board.
· If a team completes their word before all team members on both sides have had a chance to fight, we will continue by adding the words “Dragon” and “Rapier” as needed.
· Trash-talking and versifying in the list is encouraged but KEEP IT FRIENDLY AND FAMILY-FRIENDLY.

It’s a journey of some 300 miles from the Shire of Dark River to the Shire of Greyhope.
The same from the Barony of Shattered Crystal, and likewise from the Barony of the Cleftlands.
Verily, Greyhope is the heart of the Midrealm! Whose travels will be the longest this year?
· The tourney will start promptly at 1:30pm and run for 1.5 hours or until we run out of combatants
· Each combatant will be assigned a mile value:
o Holder of no rapier/rattan fighting awards: 10 miles
o Holder of AoA or GoA rapier/rattan fighting award: 15 miles
o MoDs/Knights: 25 miles
o Youth combatants: 25 miles
· Challenge format: pick your fights and get in as many as you can. Winner reports to the list keeper.
o Best 2 out of 3 passes
o Refight double kills once – (second double kill = no win for that pass)
o Weapon styles by agreement – C&T permitted if a marshal is available
