batshare is a platform for bat researchers looking to collaborate with one another by sharing sample availbility in their labs, institutions, and organizations. The concept is simple: register your bat samples that could be availble in some capacity for collaborative projects, or search the list for potential collaborators that could help facilitate your research questions.
To be an integral part of batshare, you must first gain permissions to register samples and/or view the samples list of other researchers open to collaboration. Use the batshare Access Request form to gain access. You must provide information in this form regarding institutional research affiliations and bat research field.
Once you have been granted access, voluntarily share your potential samples available for collaborative efforts by filling out the batshare Samples Registery form (link provided via email). There is no requirement to share samples once they are listed in the registery! Registering your samples on batshare just indicates you are open to collaboration and discussions regarding potential sample and information sharing.
Entries must be made by species and sample type, and can be submitted individually or in bulk.
You must provide a valid email address for bat researchers to contact you for further information.
You must confirm that all samples were collected with institutional permission and/or legal permits.
View the batshare Samples List (link provided via email upon access) and download the current version to search for potential collaborators on your next research project!
