The inspiration behind the design is about the hidden beauty in our daily life that we have never discovered. As you can see some close-up view of famous buildings in my batik design, but can you identify all the buildings? Have you ever discovered the hidden art of the buildings in Malaysia?

The patterns are designed to remind people to capture those tiny, fascinating details that might go unnoticed, increase people’s awareness of preserving batik culture and the architecture in Malaysia. Preserving batik is important because it has a connection with the country's history.

If we could preserve batik and change people's minds to appreciate batik now and in the future, other upcoming generations would be able to see and learn about batik too. It was a matter of education where we really need to appreciate and understand that it was actually part of the past civilization that could help to bring development that makes Malaysia a better country. In general I want batik to be appreciated by Malaysia Local people as their cultural and traditional clothing.

The architecture elements that I fused into the design are the identical buildings in Malaysia. Using traditional batik design, creating a squarish frame for some famous Malaysia buildings. The squarish frame is woven into people’s memories as a kind of abstraction of making places that people come together in. Also, using the most popular motifs which are the leaves and flowers as the background of the building act as the natural landscape view.

The unique composition of buildings with highly magnified views display their extraordinary hidden beauty and reveal intriguing clues about how they were crafted and used long ago. Close-up views display the unseen beauty in objects from the past which make them stand out more in the current market. It allows us to see the world in a new light. It shows the things you’d normally pass by without giving a second glance — but get just a little closer and there’s often a hidden beauty to be discovered.

This motif design can increase the awareness of batik’s traditional charm, more integrated efforts from all stakeholders are needed to preserve its intricate artistry and promote its beauty to foreigners. Besides, this batik design is also to educate local people to preserve the buildings in Malaysia. The activities in preservation works should therefore be handled with great sensitivity and skills in order to preserve the rare qualities of the buildings materials, architecture and craftsmanship.
