The theme “Aspirana Milennia” to interest a large number of what excites the younger generation of this competition. The motif in this competition is for students to explore and innovate ideas and to combine elements of the architecture to create what they feel would be a suitable pattern for a batik print on fabric.
The most popular motifs are leaver and flowers. Malaysian batik which describe humans and animals are rare because Islam norms forbid animal images as decoration. The reasons why this building have been choice because this building have their own uniqueness and it can transform to batik design because the design is modern style. Nowadays, most of batik design looks dull, classic, so for the new design need to have difference looks.
Based on the research, the quatrefoil shape are came from Latin which mean “four leaves”. This shape is usually used in art, design and architecture. A little bit about the history of the quatrefoil, this shape is use in centuries, and designers and artists still use it today. No one knows for sure where it came from, although some sources connect it to ancient Islamic art and trade between cultures along Silk Road.
The Concept is FO FLO. The reasons why this concept calls FO FLO because it shows the meaning of the shape which is quatrefoil. FO FLO is about the combination between two words which is FOUR FLORETS. Element of architecture for this design is there have organic shape.
