“A deep sense of love and belonging is an irresistible need of all people. We are biologically, cognitively, physically, and spiritually wired to love, to be loved, and to belong. When those needs are not met, we don't function as we were meant to.”

Connection is something we treasure and crave as the younger generation enjoy the quality and fun times spent together with their friends and families, the perfect outlet for their vibrant and youthful energy. The incessant longing to connect is especially augmented this year when the whole world is hit with the ongoing pandemic which restricts human interactions. Isolated at home with nothing but work, we began to realize the significance of human connection in regard to our overall wellbeing. Whether it is the bond forged between friends or the intrinsic ties with our families, the times spent together render us a sense of belonging and comfort whenever we find ourselves lost or overwhelmed in the unpredictability of life. It builds and shape us.

With the greater exposure to media and information, the younger generations are well-acquainted with the importance of unity among human race as a means to eradicate the existing discrimination among one another. As we connect from a place of humanity, our origins, the colour of our skin, the genders in which we identify and the religions we uphold no longer matters. This is when we realize that what unites us is far greater and more powerful than what pull us apart. Thus, by relating over shared experiences rather than disconnecting over perceived differences and practicing the courage to show up as who we are, we give others around us permission to do the same, building trust and confidence, a common sense of values and the emotional muscle to allow ourselves to fail and to empower each other to get back up which further strengthens and propels our quest for human connection.

In the power of love and the importance of connection, these forces that unite us are so much more than whatever is supposed to divide us. All we need is to open our heart.

About the Design

The design depicts the interlocking of the geometric shape, squares as a symbol of the connection established between humans while the organic and nature-inspired elements represents the beautiful fruits of the connections that flows and emerges abundantly when we connect deeply with someone, hence nurturing us. The use of symmetry is also present which generates a sense of balance in the design composition, signifying the emotional balance we achieve when we stop neglecting and forgoing the precious connections around us.
