About Batik

Batik true origin remains in mystery with evidence of early batik has been found as far as the Middle East, Japan, Europe, as well as India and China over 2000 years ago. The pattern of Batik bring a lot of implied meaning which only the designer know about the main meaning. In Malaysia, where batik origins are unknown, it is believed that the states of Kelantan and Terengganu are recognised as the cradle where Malaysia batik grew.

Concept

The concept of our batik design is Bold. This word was chosen as the concept of our design because the design itself symbolize freedom. In order to achieve freedom in life, ones need to be bold since the world are going to be tough and it’s a long way to go. The pattern of geometric shape symbolize the bold and it is a stylish, modern and most importantly it’s going to boost up the self confidence of the millennial.

Pattern

Our batik design was inspired by a butterfly where this little insect can be related to the theme ‘Aspirana Millennia’ which is to symbolize freedom among the millennial. Butterfly itself is a insect that free to go anywhere and shine the place they go. Same goes to the younger generation, the millennial, they deserves a freedom, flexibility and stability such as ; freedom to pursue passions, freedom to make a choice life and freedom to shine and spread the positivity like a butterfly.

The main and the biggest pattern that will caught every eyes on our design is the butterfly’s wings. This butterfly’s wings was chosen as the main pattern because it is the reasons for a butterfly to fly and makes the butterfly beautiful. This can be related to the millennial when we equating the wings of the butterfly to the latent talent of the millennial. As they has given a freedom to shine, they can fly high and benefit more people same as the butterfly relieves every anxious heart when we looking at it.

The spiral lines pattern represent the butterfly antenna that used for the sense of smell and balance by the butterfly. This antenna can be related to the older generation to help the millennial to pursue their dreams. And the straight line on the top of the design represent the body of the butterfly.
