At first, we divided into two people in groups to design our batik block patterns. We do not know what is the process of making batik patterns and what are the categories of the batik pattern, so our lecture explains about the batik for us to let us know deeper to understand the pattern of the batik. For our information, batik produced both an art and a craft, which is becoming ever more popular and well known among contemporary artists all over the world, as a wonderfully creative medium. Therefore, we read the terms and conditions of the Gahara competition. This competition is about a Gahara batik company collaborate with PAM Education Committee on a design competition that is targeting architecture students to create a batik design for a copper block that is suited for millennials. Moreover, the batik competition themed ‘Aspirana Millennia’, which means to allow a broad girth of what inspires the younger generation. This competition is to seek architecture students to explore and innovate thoughts and to combine the elements of architecture that we studied in year one sem one and to produce what we consider would be a suitable pattern for a batik print on fabric. On the Gahara website, we read an article on ruzzgahara, then we find the meaning of Gahara which means ‘kerabat tulen diraja’. Meanwhile, we were inspired by the 'logo diraja' because the logo diraja has a lot of elements. We took one of the elements from the logo which is the paddy that symbolizes luxury and prosperity. Besides, gahara batik produces exclusive batik. After our discussion and decision of the concept, the concept of the batik is the splendor that means magnificent and splendid appearance, so when the young gene wears its suitable for nowadays trend and makes it will look classy. For the design of the batik patterns, we also play around with the elements and principles that we learn in architecture elements and principles. In our design, the paddy seeds are connected as their primary branch. The slanted lines in the flag leaf represent the emotion of the young gene which is unstable emotions. Next, paddy can give a luxury life to people but once in a few months and the economy of the paddy owner is unstable compared to the wage earner. In conclusion, we inspired the ‘logo diraja’ and pick paddy as our design. Thus, our concept related young gene unstable emotions and the economy of the paddy that gives luxury life to people once a moment.
