Among the huge variety of batik designs, I personally felt that the Indonesian batik patterns have a much stronger symbolic meaning. Using natural elements of beautiful things around us as while using simple geometry to connect architectural with batik designing. When designing the pattern I was confused on what to do, I began experimenting different combinations of geometrics, from creating multiple lozenge-like shape flower petals patterns which was meant to be depict coastal batik to show the flexibility of batik at first but later on while combining it all together it formed beautiful butterflies which can be seen when the flower-petaled-wings combine. While the role of the flower began purely for aesthetic purposes, it combined together to create somethings new which could be said for most artwork. Butterflies also do not have a significant relation with specific cultures, therefore it is meant for all to enjoy without extra thoughts. This batik design was hugely influenced by the oldest batik which was meant for royalty, now it can freely seen for all.
