For Baskerville students based at Bournville College we aim to prepare our students for life beyond college so the curriculum offered is designed to help our young people make choices about their next steps and career options.

•The Bournville college link with Baskerville School was set up in 2004

•The main aim was to integrate students from Baskerville into a college mainstream environment.

•Bournville College link was the first of its kind and has grown in popularity each year.

•Our teaching and support staff are vastly experienced in delivering high quality education to students with Autism and learning difficulties.

•Bournville College is now part of the South & City College group, and being part of the college environment means we can offer small group learning with access to outstanding facilities.

•The college has an excellent motor vehicle department, construction centre and a brand new engineering department, gym and a massive state of the art library are just a few of the exciting additions, as well having access to the other campuses around the city.

Pathways

Base Pathway

Students access the base and are supported within the classroom.

All students will have the opportunity to access a vocational infill course such as:

•Hair & Beauty

•Sport

•Construction

•Motor Vehicle

•Baking & Cake Making

•Independent Living Skills

Alongside this students will access a full and active curriculum based on needs:

we also offer:

•Travel training

•Work experience.

•Mental health and wellbeing

•Transition Programme


Mainstream Pathway

Students access a mainstream course and support is provided dependent on need

Students are enrolled onto mainstream courses of their choice.

Students will follow the college timetable and this will include a GCSE Maths & English Programme.

Students will be expected to attend regular tutorials with the Baskerville Staff to ensure support and work load is being managed.

Students are expected to travel independently when selecting this pathway as the timetable may be outside of the normal school day.

Support is gradually reduced over the 3 year period
