I have served on boards, offered consultations and given presentations to various educational entities.. Through this type of leadership my goal is to bring the lens of a servant, someone who can move the profession forward as well as shape institutions so that they provide more authentic learning experiences for individuals. Supported this school in providing professional development experiences around assessment for initial and ongoing accreditation. Engaged teachers with
Jefferson R7 School District - Consultant One to One Chromebook Rollout
Consulted with this district in 2013 as it worked to roll out a districtwide Chromebook program. Worked with teachers to select Chrome apps that would be used to deliver instruction in this early phase of the roll out. Increased faculty awareness of the basics of Google Apps.
The Soulard School - Board Member
Service on the board of an innovative Independent School in the Soulard Neighborhood in Saint Louis. My role has been to increase school connections to the wider community such as Webster University, as well as local entrepreneurs and families. Another goal is to support the school in it’s mission to “share understanding about learning as research with the wider community”
Saint Louis Public Schools (SLPS) Walbridge Elementary Community Education Center - Council Member
Humanity First USA - Project Director Saint Louis Area Projects
Provide support and capacity building for Walnut Park East Neighborhood. Promote education around food production, urban agriculture and STEM training. Co-developed Sadiq Community Garden. Support Pat Frederick Garden. Lead teams of volunteers to promote community engagement and community awareness. Provided support for the development of neighborhood associations. Promote housing development and education.
Muslim Youth USA - Formerly National Vice President in Charge of Communications
Developed and implemented designs for national education program for Muslim Youth. Engaged in media campaigns and public advocacy around the public perceptions of Islam. Participated in meetings with congressional officials and press conferences in order to educate them on different Muslim constituents.
