I am a number theorist and Assistant Teaching Professor in the School of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences at Arizona State University. My research is in arithmetic geometry: I study elliptic curves and modular forms through the lens of Galois deformation theory, with the Frey-Mazur conjecture as a central motivating problem. Alongside this, I work on mathematical creativity and the teaching of university mathematics, and I write expository mathematics for general audiences.
Before ASU, I completed my PhD at the University of Massachusetts Amherst under supervision of Tom Weston, and I hold a BS in mathematics from Bogazici University.
