Welcome to Our Room!
I am so excited to be a part of your child's educational journey! In first grade we get to have so much fun learning to read, playing with numbers in math and writing books! I absolutely love reading! I love reading to you, listening to you read and exploring new books together. I have a whole collection of books that you will hear me call “all my favorites” because I can never pick just one!
We will have a great time together learning new centers, games and of course celebrating WARRIOR WAY choices with Fun Fridays! I will be here to help you learn and grow in any way I can!
I think of my classroom as my family away from home. It is important that we all work together, support each other and practice RESPECTFUL, RESPONSIBLE, SAFE behavior. I look forward to getting to know each one of you and your families!
A little about myself:
This is my fourth year teaching first grade. I have spent my entire teaching career at Northwestern Elementary. In the past I taught second grade for five years and was the school counselor for four years before returning to the classroom because I missed it so much!
When I am not at school, I am at home with my family. I live with my husband Will. We have three adult daughters (two in college and the youngest in the Air Force). We are very proud of our girls! Our niece and nephew also live with us. My niece Augustine will be in third grade at NW this year and her brother Gavin is going to middle school! In addition to all those special people, we have four doggies (Woody, Hope, Maggie and Ruby). I will tell you lots of funny stories about them this year!
In my free time I enjoy being outside gardening or swimming, interior decorating, having movie nights with my family and getting to the beach whenever I can! I can’t wait to learn about some of your favorite things!

OneView.: This portal allows you to complete annual back to school forms online. Every family must complete this process.
Class Dojo: We will use Class Dojo to reinforce positive behavior, communicate & share student work.
