Cordial/Brewing Competition
Welcome Vintners and makers of fine spirits! It is time once again for the Winter Revel Wine and Cordial competition! We know our Barony’s vintners have been hard at work, fermenting, tweaking and tasting the ‘fruit’ of their labors – now it is time to show them off!
This is always a fun competition – especially for our judges! If interested in being a judge, please contact Lady Miryam via (nancy.a.bowen@pfizer.com)
This year’s competition guidelines are as follows:
One entry per person is standard, but we recognize that some ambitious vintners may want to have an entry in each category
Entries to be categorized as either beer, wine, mead, or cordial
Cider – typically water / apple-juice based (4.5 – 7% ABV)
Cordial – sweetened (dessert) distilled beverage (15-30% ABV)
Mead / Melomel – fermented via water/honey or juice/honey (4-20% ABV)
Wine – juice-based fermentation (6-21% Alcohol by Volume – ABV)
Each entry must have a written description as to
the category (cider / cordial / mead / melomel / wine)
the flavor profile,
approximate ABV

any other details that will help the judges in their assessment
Judging Criteria – a score of 0-3 points for each category
