Simon Holmstrom, the Islanders 23rd overall pick in the 2019 NHL draft, has gotten some NHL action with injuries to the Islanders veteran wingers.

Holmstrom has 1 assist through 7 games. He only has 1 giveaway and 6 takeaways.

In no way has he been any bit of a liability to the Islanders through his young NHL career.

Kyle Palmieri, who Holmstrom is filling in for, has resumed skating and should be back available this week.

So, should Simon Holmstrom push a player like Josh Bailey to the press box?

If Holmstrom plays 3 more games, it would wipe a year off his entry-level contract.

Should the Isles shop Holmstrom to bring in an upgrade proven scorer?
