Isles Acquire Bo Horvat

Islanders GM Lou Lamoriello announced today that the team has acquired impending free agent forward Bo Horvat from the Vancouver Canucks in exchange for Anthony Beauvillier, Aatu Raty, and a 2023 1st round pick (top 12 protected).
Horvat has 31 goals in 38 games this season including 11 power-play goals.
An extension with Horvat is expected to come shortly.
Horvat will slot in real nicely as a top scorer in the Isles top six.
The move did not cost the Islanders any dollars in cap space.
With the obvious Islanders goal scoring struggles, a move to revitalize this group was needed. A near goal per game guy will for sure help.
After 5 seasons with the Islanders, Anthony Beauvillier’s tenure is over. He never had a 40-point season.
Aatu Raty, who was the 52nd overall pick in 2021, showed signs and potential of being a middle six center.
I’d like to wish the best to them both in Vancouver.
Horvat will be set to make his Islander debut in a week’s time when the team returns from the All Star Break.
