Bay Area RG: 2023 Redistribution Campaign
BARG has three local organizational partnerships with BIPOC poor and working class organizations: read more about our partners here! These partnerships represent a diversity of the Bay Area movement leaders and keep us grounded in the realities and priorities of local poor and working class communities. As an organization of wealth and class privileged people these partnerships are critical in keeping us grounded in the physical realities for working class communities that our privilege inherently distances us from. And they enable us to more directly and collectively follow local movement leadership!
As one foundational part of these partnerships, BARG asks our members to commit to moving at least 5% of our annual redistribution to each of our three local partners (total of minimum 15% to all three partners). In 2023, we are launching a combined BARG Redistribution Campaign where we are tracking local partner commitments through a centralized pledge - bit.ly/BARG23PartnerPledge - in addition to tracking overall redistribution pledges through RG National's pledge - https://resourcegeneration.org/redistribution-pledge/. This will help us better support each other in our redistribution efforts, move our chapter into collective action, and communicate transparently with our partners.
This page shows our current, real-time collective progress towards this goal! We have set a goal of raising at least $500,000 per partner this year through organizing enough of our members to move at least 5% of their redistribution commitment to each partner!
