Is barcode scanning available for the Perspective Workstation app installed on a Windows 11 Surface tablet? The tablet itself has a native barcode scanner (within its camera app) but I am unable to get it to work. My demo app works for IOS.

Barcodes are a convenient way to pass information from the real world to yourapp. In particular, when using 2D formats such as QR code, you can encodestructured data such as contact information or WiFi network credentials. BecauseML Kit can automatically recognize and parse this data, your app can respondintelligently when a user scans a barcode.

For users who don't require custom UI, we recommend using theGoogle code scanner. The codescanner API uses the same inference model as the standard Barcode scanning API,but returns only the most centralized barcode for a faster and more consistentexperience. Google code scanner is also safer and permission-less, and does notrequire camera-related implementation or permissions.

I am currently trying to set up this barcode scanner to simply populate the search field with what it scans. I have tried a few different methods, but I cannot seem to get any of them to work. Pictured is an example of something I've tried. If anyone has any insight I would greatly appreciate it.

Use the CGI form below to generate a printable and scan-able barcode in Interleaved 2 of 5, Code 39, Code 128 A, B, or C symbologies. This free service can be used to generate individual barcodes or called via URL's to include inline PNG or JPEG images directly into your documents.

For the ability to design and print your own barcodes, check out our barcode generator software from Seagull Scientific, Teklynx, and Niceware. We also have a wide selection of barcode labels to choose from, or fill out our custom label form to have one of our experts provide you a quote and lead time on your very own custom labels.

I'm looking for a funny bit of functionality. The use case is this. I would like beneficiaries to display their QR card, I scan their card with my ODK Collect, and based on that scan, have a picture come up of the beneficiary. Obviously we would have previously gathered the picture and distributed the QR code.

Basically, define a read-only note for each individual with their name and an embedded image (ie media::image), and use relevant logic to only show the one who's id matches the userid captured from your barcode/QR code scanner. See -styling/

Yes, I had thought about instead making a long choice list with all the pictures and names (see -question-types/#select-widget-with-image-choices) and using a calculation to effectively programmatically select the option corresponding to the scanned id. But the issue is that it'll still show all the pictures (but only one will be selected).

@dmtk41 Yes! If I understand you correctly, you're trying to figure out if there is anyway to know whether someone scanned has already been scanned DURING THAT SESSION, right? I think (and community, pls correct me if I"m wrong @yanokwa for example), but I think ODK-X was designed to accomplish this... to have a local store of records... but I don't think this is possible on normal ODK.

Our workflow has the CSR taking the jobs back to our Art Dept. There is constant discussion on how long an order is in Art vs CSR vs Production. Currently, there is no good way to determine this for the Art dept. So i was thinking to add in a bar code check in where when the paperwork is brought back to Art it is scanned into the Epicor. Basically would just need Order number, Job number, Dept field, Time Stamp. Is this possible, has anyone done this yet?

I have a simple USB barcode reader which I intend to use to scan COD 39 barcodes. I know that just scanning the barcode while having a text field on focus will get me the text input of the barcode I'm scanning. However my requirement is a bit different.

I need to create a C# application where upon reading a barcode it will check the read barcode with a list I have to see whether it exists. The problem is I cannot keep a text box on my app in focus all the time as the app does other things as well. Instead what I want is for my program to keep looking for some sort of "event" which will be raised once the bar code scanners scans a code.

I have recently connected the Socket Mobile 7Ci barcode scanner to my Square POS app on an IPAD Air 4th Gen. This particular IPAD was meant as secondary satelite POS and my intention for the Socket Mobile 7Ci barcode scanner was primarily to scan in Member ID #'s and USPS tracking numbers into a Google Form for membership registration. The ability to also scan products is secondary, as we can just as easily ring up items via the Square POS buttons.

I previously tested the bluetooth scanner on the Google Form and it worked great. We have already ordered a Square Stand compatible Motorola USB barcode scanner that we plan to use for the primary Square Stand POS, so I was merely testing out the bluetooth scanner on the Square POS app to see if it works for both the POS and Google functions I desire, but now that I've connected it to the Square POS it won't scan the barcodes into my Google Form, even if I double click the IPAD 4's home button and "close the Square POS" by swipping the application upwards.

EDIT: Found instruction on how to reset barcode scanner (below). I had to print the image to scan because the scanner does not seem to work with barcodes on monitors or IPADS. I can now use it for Google Forms again and it does not auto connect to POS. Still would love to know if anyone has any suggestions for my second inquiry though!

This works, but it does have a bug. I get this error message everytime I scan something. It still returns the correct value, but this error message popup is irritating. If anyone finds a solution to get rid of this error message please let me know.

@levon - What barcode types are supported with this app and are you in the process of introducing more? I would be using the barcode reader for a 5-6 character barcoded asset tag (shorter characters are more friendly for human-readable and sufficient for my use).

you can try to integrate the barcode scanner SDKs from Scangine (www.scangine.com) . From what we have evaluated till not, they are very fast and easy to integrate and have the best price performance ratio.

Hello, I would like to revive the topic of barcode scanners, maybe someone used the readers of this company : ?

In my company, the scanner is very actively used. I am specifically thinking about buying this scanner: -wifi-bluetooth-wireless-2d-code-reader-hd3200-5907614660031.html

I want a wireless connection.

I am a part of the desktop support group for my company and I've been having issues with the Honeywell 1952 scanners. The scanner works fine when I don't have a remote session opened in Citrix. However, once I open a session(Ex:PuTTY) the scanner doesn't work in windows or in the remote application. If I scan a barcode, nothing gets written into notepad or into the PuTTY session itself.

For troubleshooting, I went under the Citrix Workspace Connection Center and I found that the Honeywell CCB is listed as a Generic Device and is being used as a "Remote Session" device. If I uncheck the redirect box, the device becomes a "Local Machine" device and now when I scan a barcode, it gets written in notepad and in the PuTTY remote session. It looks like the scanner only works as a "Local Machine" device and not as a "Remote Session".

I plugged in a different brand scanner(Zebra branded), and this one is a "Policy Restricted" device under the connection center, it's always forced as a "Local Machine" device and it cannot be changed. Haven't got any complains about this specific scanner at all. Could this be something to do with the Honeywell scanner not being compatible with the Citrix Workspace or should I tell our system admin to make the Honeywell scanner a "Policy Restricted" device and force it as a "Local Machine" device only?.

I found this article( -docs.citrix.com/en-us/citrix-workspace-app/windows/display-view-desktops-in-desktop-viewer.html) and it says "USB mice and keyboards are usually policy restricted". Barcode scanners are technically considered HID keyboard devices which leads me to believe the issue is related with how the Honeywell barcode scanner is setup in our environment.

I've found that barcode scans are often incorrect during my tests, Ive mostly been testing UPC's around the house, so I dont know what format they are in.

its tough to give instructions on how to duplicate, but It seems to happen most often when there is a glare on the barcode that reduces visibility or alters the appearance.

My understanding of barcode scanners is that they will use a checksum to validate a scan before it is accepted. this does not seem to be happening, so that's why I'm marking it as a bug. the scanner appears to be very sensitive as compared to, say, the shopify mobile barcode scanner, which by the length of time it takes to scan something and the scanner app they implement has some redundant checking going on.

I'm using android and iOS, the iOS scanner seems to make more mistakes than the android though. the web one is super bad at even recognizing barcodes but I just attributed that to the quality of my webcam, or the style of lens that webcam's use. but maybe its the implementation.
