Early members of the Club also helped nearby towns to form their own Club. On 26 February 1974, Norman Scroxton (Hon. Secretary) addressed Leamington Spa Rotary Club at the Regent Hotel, Leamington, at their invitation on the subject of Probus Clubs.
Later, on 29 July 1974 he attended the Inaugural Meeting of the Leamington Probus Club, and was thanked by the Rotary President for his help in establishing this Club. “You fanned the spark into a flame. We’re very grateful.” said John Algar, Leamington Rotary Club. The guest speaker was Bishop John Daly, of Bishops Tachbrook, who showed the film of his recent trip round the world in 90 days.
George Clark visited Witney Rotary Club and as a result a Probus Club was established there. H. R. Sanderson and Norman Scroxton visited the Crown Hotel, Brackley, to discuss the possibility of forming a Probus Club there. The Brackley Probus Club was subsequently established.
