At the A.G.M. in December 2002, when Cliff Butler was Chairman, a new form of membership was proposed. After much discussion it was carried by 20 votes to 6 (with two abstentions) that a new form of membership be adopted for those members who for reasons such as poor health find it extremely difficult to attend the Club’s evening meetings. Such members should pay a subscription, to be decided at the A.G.M. each year, and be entitled, when able, to attend any of the Club’s meetings or events. On being accepted for such Membership, full Membership shall be relinquished and such members should not be included within the existing Club membership limit of 40. The decision as to whether such membership be offered to existing members shall be at the discretion of the Committee. A further proposal “that the Annual Subscription for the above new form of membership shall be £7.00 for the year 2003” was carried unanimously.
