BambooLeisure ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how the BambooLeisure mobile application ("App") handles information when you use our services.
1. Overview
BambooLeisure is designed as a personal wellness and journaling app. Most of your content is stored locally on your device. We do not require you to create an account to use the App.
2. Information We Collect
Information you provide: The App allows you to create and store content such as journal entries, mood records, evening reflections, phenology check-ins, timer sessions, wish cards, breath practice logs, and custom wallpaper settings. This content is stored on your device unless you choose to export it.
Privacy lock: If you enable Journal privacy protection, you may set a password. Passwords are stored locally on your device in a hashed form. We do not receive or store your password on our servers.
Device permissions: The App may request access to certain device features only when needed:
Face ID / Touch ID: Optional, to unlock protected journal content.
Photo Library: Optional, if you choose to save a wallpaper image to your photo library.
Files: Optional, when you export or import a data archive.
Audio playback: Used for white noise and background audio features you choose to use.
We do not collect your name, email address, or phone number through the App unless you voluntarily contact us for support.
3. How We Use Information
Information stored in the App is used only to provide App features to you, including:
Displaying and organizing your personal records
Generating statistics and trends based on your local data
Protecting journal content with optional privacy lock
Exporting and importing your data at your request
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
4. Data Storage and Security
Your App data is stored locally on your iPhone or iPad. You are responsible for maintaining backups of your device. You may use the in-app Export Archive feature to create a backup file.
We take reasonable measures to protect information processed by the App, but no method of electronic storage is completely secure. Please use device passcode protection and optional Journal privacy lock for sensitive entries.
5. Data Sharing
We do not share your journal entries, mood records, or other App content with third parties. Information may be disclosed only:
If you choose to export or share data yourself
If required by law or valid legal process
To protect our rights, safety, or the rights and safety of others
6. Children's Privacy
BambooLeisure is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete such information.
7. Your Choices
You may:
Delete individual records within the App
Clear all App data using Data Tools → Clear All Data
Export your data at any time
Disable privacy lock or biometric unlock in Journal settings
Uninstall the App to remove locally stored data from your device
8. Third-Party Services
The App may use Apple system frameworks and services (such as iOS, iCloud file storage if you save exports to iCloud Drive, and optional biometric authentication). Your use of those services is subject to Apple's privacy policies.
9. International Users
If you access the App from outside the United States, your information may be processed and stored on your device in your country of use. By using the App, you consent to this policy.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Effective date" at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated policy.
