iCloud Photos keeps your photos and videos safe, up to date, and available automatically on all of your Apple devices, on iCloud.com, and even your PC. When you use iCloud Photos, you don't need to import photos from one iCloud device to another. iCloud Photos always uploads and stores your original, full-resolution photos. You can keep full-resolution originals on each of your devices, or save space with device-optimized versions instead. Either way, you can download your originals whenever you need them. Any organizational changes or edits you make are always kept up to date across all your Apple devices. Learn how to set up and use iCloud Photos.

New photos and videos you add to iCloud Photos are shown on your PC automatically. To download the file from iCloud when you view it, double-click its thumbnail. You can also keep your photos downloaded on your PC with these steps:

The info given here already is good and the best way to do it, especially if you are transferring several photos. But here is another way that doesn't require using iTunes, synch, or cables, etc. You can simply send an email from your computer (using any email program you choose) with the photo as an attachment, and send it to your iCloud email. It will appear there & you can access it from there or you can click the little arrow on the toolbar below the photo and select 'save image'. This will store it with your other photos, on Camera Roll, etc.It sounds complicated but it's actually easier than the other ways, but mainly for single pics.

You can transfer these photos with iTunes which is really easy and practical way to sync your computer data with your iPhone. In the first way, you can choose photos and select sync. In the other way, you can select "files"> "add file to library or add folder to library" in file option. You just need to follow the steps as the screen shown, and transferring pictures from desktop to iPhone can be achieved.

However, I am trying to CUT and paste. I do NOT want the photos on my phone any more. When I cut and paste, it appears to work, and the photos are removed from the directory as I'm viewing it on my PC. But give it a minute or two to refresh, and when I navigate back to that DCIM (apple) folders the photos are there again. On the phone.

What I can say, though, is that if you were using iCloud and had all your 25000+ photos uploaded on iCloud, then you could view your photos on your PC through a web-browser on___________, and also delete/manage them there. As you know, photos deleted from iCloud.com would also be deleted on any device (iPhone) connected to iCloud.

This has been an incredibly frustrating experience for me. It seems like downloading photos from your phone to computer wouldn't be difficult in 2021. I have tried everything. I used USB on multiple different computers and downloading them from the DCIM folders always produced a number of corrupt files and the downloads inevitably failed. I have 17000+ photos. I also tried using windows photos application on multiple computers with windows 7 and windows 10, neither was able to download the photos. I finally bought Icloud space in the hopes that I could download them from the cloud, only to find that I could only download 1000 at a time. I tried downloading icloud for windows and the only options are to upload photos from your computer or share photos. It seems so simple. I just want to get photos from my phone to my computer so I can edit them, print them, etc. Please help!!!!!!!
