BallScorer — Privacy Policy
Last updated: 7 July 2026
BallScorer ("we", "our", "the app") helps you score and share cricket matches. This policy explains how we handle information when you use the app. By using BallScorer you agree to the practices below.
1. Information we collect
We store as little personal data as possible:
• Match and scoring data you enter — team names, player names, overs, runs, wickets, and ball-by-ball events.
• Player phone numbers (optional) — only if you add a mobile number to a player. This field can be left blank.
• An anonymous account identifier — on startup the app signs in anonymously to Google Firebase and is given a random anonymous ID. It is not linked to your name, email, phone number, or Google account.
We do not collect your name, email, location, contacts, photos, or advertising identifiers. The app has no advertising and no third-party analytics or tracking.
2. How we use the information
• To record, display, and save your scorecards.
• To sync matches to the cloud so they can be shared and viewed via a share code.
• To generate PDF scorecards you choose to share.
We do not use your data for advertising or profiling, and we do not sell your data.
3. Where your data is stored
• On your device — matches are saved locally so the app works offline.
• In the cloud — matches are stored in Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore and Firebase Authentication) so they can be shared and viewed on other devices via a share code. Data is sent over encrypted (HTTPS/TLS) connections.
Google Firebase acts as our data processor: https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
4. Sharing a match
When you share a match code, anyone with that code can view that match's scorecard, including player names (and phone numbers, if you added them). Only share codes with people you intend to give access to.
5. Entering other people's phone numbers
If you add a player's phone number, you confirm you have that person's permission to store it. You are responsible for the personal data you enter about other people. If someone asks you to remove their number, please delete it from the player entry.
6. Data retention and deletion
• Matches remain stored until deleted.
• You can delete matches on your device from within the app.
• To request deletion of cloud data, email platinbill@gmail.com with the match details and we will remove it.
7. Children's privacy
BallScorer is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Permissions
The app requests only network access (Internet and network state) to sync and share matches. It does not access your contacts, camera, location, or storage.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be shown by updating the "Last updated" date.
10. Contact
