Ben is a Ph.D. student in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis and an Institute for the Education Sciences predoctoral fellow at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. 

A graduate of the University of Arizona (B.Mus.) and Northern Arizona University (M.Ed.), they advised a Gender Sexuality Alliance in a southern Arizona high school while teaching choir and drama. A national board certified teacher and Arizona Teacher of the Year finalist, Ben’s research focuses on the intersection of education policy and politics, LGBTQ+ health and identity, and the role of supportive adults, educators, and leaders in supporting inclusive environments.
