Lenae's interest in health and fitness was sparked while coaching kids in the sport of precision jump rope during high school. Then after several years of Art school (her first love), she switched majors and began her career in Exercise Science. For 12 years she worked as a personal trainer specializing in older and high risk populations, corrective/rehab exercise, pre/postnatal fitness, and natural pain reduction. She is currently taking a break from the fitness world to focus on her family and work at her kid's school. Lenae, and her three daughters, are blessed to be at a Christian "University Model" school where she gets to teach Middle and High School Art as well as Anatomy & Physiology par-time while homeschooling on "Satellite Days". This unique blend of on campus instruction combined with extra time at home has been a prefect fit for her family.
Much of her understanding comes from personal experience combined with extensive research. Lenae has battled such things as chronic pain and fatigue, autoimmune issues, three c-sections and post pregnancy weight gain, multiple hernias and diastasis recti. She knows first hand the struggles of living with chronic pain/illness and dealing with excessive weight gain. Life on this fallen earth is hard at times. Lenae's passion has always been to use her gifts and experience to educate and inspire others to live richer and more productive lives, despite whatever mental or physical issues there may be. She takes a more natural and holistic approach to things and firmly believes that God has given us amazing physical healing and restorative potential in such forms as nutrition, movement, art and nature.
Lenae lives with her husband and three little girls in northern Virginia. The family enjoys camping, walks in the woods, dancing, creating art, and exploring museums and art galleries.
