Before Your Next Trip To the Grocery Store
Think about this as you wander down the aisles of your local supermarket, as you're bombarded with so many clever marketing tactics. You may not pick up on them, but they are there. Manufacturers want you to purchase their products, and they work diligently to deceive you into believing that their food is much healthier than it actually is.
Because food is our main source of nutrition and the route to a healthy body, what you put into your mouth is extremely important. Eating a healthy diet appears to be so very simple, but there is so much subterfuge from the manufacturers of food that it is hard to know what is or is not healthy.
On each aisle, you'll see brands that openly proclaim things like 'Organic,' 'No Trans Fats,' 'All Natural,' 'Gluten Free,' 'Fat-Free,' and a slew of other apparently healthy terms. Consumers frequently are unaware that they are purchasing foods that are harmful to their bodies. They think "It says it's organic, so it must be healthy". Regrettably, this is very often not so.
Food companies are not really concerned about your health. What they do care about is making money. The quicker you understand this, the better. It's up to you to be more diligent in your food choices!
