Sources contradict about DC-3 MSN 26366. According to the ASN, the plane was built in 1944. It was probably built for the USAF. It was acquired by Interior sometime after 1953 (when they started work on DEW lines). It had likely served with Interior multiple years before it crashed.
On January 16, 1958, N75391 was flying over northern Canada, likely bound for one of the DEW site that Interior Airways was supporting. The pilot was using a Nondirectional Radio Homing Beacon (DF) for navigation despite being advised not to do so. The DF was unreliable due to atmospheric conditions and conditions on the ground. The pilot unknowingly flew off course and crashed. All 3 people on board survived.
The wreckage is visibly less intact than older photos show. I don't know what happened, if it was salvaged or not.
