I couldn't find any information about when this T-33 before its crash. However, it probably only served with the USAF.
This crash occurred on December 2, 1965. The aircraft was an intercept target for a pair of F-102s that were going through training. The flight lasted over 1 and a half hours, during which the aircraft was intercepted multiple times. Then, the aircraft suffered a catastrophic engine failure. The sudden loss of thrust threw the pilot forward in his seat. After more concerning noises from the engine (including a second explosion) and multiple attempted engine restarts, the pilot ejected.
The wreckage is well preserved by the California heat and is clearly visible on satellite imagery.
