C-GYHT was delivered to the USAF at the end of the second world war in 1945. It saw a bit of service, but was sold to the civil market. It was bought by Riddle Airlines in 1951 as N3925C and had 3 different operators before being sold to a private owner and re-registered N239JL in 1962. It then had 6 (wow) operators before being sold to Lambair and being re-registered as C-GYHT in 1978.
On November 19, 1979, C-GYHT took off from Churchill for a bush flight. It suffered an oil problem in engine No. 1 and was forced to return. It couldn't maintain altitude and crash landed just short of the runway. There were no fatalities.
The wreck wasn't salvaged.
