This Privacy Policy explains how Bad Habit Tracker & Breaker ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information of users:
By downloading or using the App, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.
## 1. Information We Collect
### 1.1 Habit Tracking Data (Stored Locally Only)
The App allows you to track habits you want to quit or reduce. This data — including habit names, streaks, progress logs, and personal notes you enter — is stored **only on your device** using local storage. We do not collect, transmit, or have access to this data on any server. If you uninstall the App or clear its data, this information is permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.
We do not require you to create an account to use the App's core features.
### 1.2 Advertising Data
The App uses **Google AdMob** to display ads. AdMob may collect and process information such as:
- Advertising ID (a resettable device identifier)
- IP address and approximate location
- Device information (model, OS version)
- Ad interaction data (impressions, clicks)
This data is used to serve and measure ads, and may be used by Google for ad personalization, unless you have opted out (see Section 5).
### 1.3 Analytics and Crash Data
The App uses **Firebase Analytics** and **Firebase Crashlytics** to understand app usage and diagnose technical issues. These tools may collect:
- App usage patterns (screens visited, features used, session length)
- Device information (model, OS version, language, country)
- Crash logs and diagnostic data
- Anonymous/pseudonymous identifiers
This data helps us improve app stability and performance. It is not linked to your habit-tracking content, which remains on-device.
### 1.4 Purchase Data
If you purchase a subscription or in-app item, the transaction is processed entirely by **Google Play Billing**. We do not receive or store your payment details (card numbers, billing address, etc.). We may receive limited, non-financial information from Google confirming your purchase or subscription status, used solely to unlock premium features.
## 2. How We Use Information
We use the limited data described above to:
- Operate and maintain core App functionality
- Display and measure advertising
- Diagnose crashes and improve performance
- Manage subscriptions and premium feature access
- Comply with legal obligations
We do **not** sell your personal information.
## 3. Third-Party Services
The App uses the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policy:
| Google AdMob | Advertising | https://policies.google.com/privacy |
| Google Firebase Analytics | Usage analytics | https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy |
| Firebase Crashlytics | Crash reporting | https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy |
| Google Play Billing | Subscriptions/purchases | https://policies.google.com/privacy |
## 4. Data Storage and Security
Your habit-tracking data never leaves your device — it is not uploaded to any server we operate. We take reasonable technical measures to protect any data processed by third-party SDKs (AdMob, Firebase), but no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure.
## 5. Your Choices and Rights
- **Delete your data:** Uninstalling the App or clearing its storage from your device settings permanently deletes all local habit-tracking data.
- **Opt out of personalized ads:** You can reset or limit your Advertising ID via your device settings (Settings > Google > Ads > Opt out of Ads Personalization), or manage ad settings at https://adssettings.google.com.
- **Analytics opt-out:** You may disable usage data collection via your device's app permission/data settings where supported.
- **Access/Deletion requests (GDPR/CCPA):** Since we do not store your habit data on our servers, we hold minimal personal data. For any requests regarding data we may hold via third-party services, contact us using the details in Section 8.
## 6. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13 (or the relevant minimum age in your jurisdiction), given its focus on addiction and habit recovery topics. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
## 7. Sensitive Information
The App may involve information related to health-adjacent topics (e.g., substance use, gambling habits). This information is processed and stored exclusively on your device and is not transmitted to us or shared with third parties. We do not use this content for advertising or analytics purposes.
## 8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
