Sir. Allan Rodriguez the municipal councilor of the province of laurel batanggas is during the press conference informed the citizens  how typhoon kristine affect the province

October 24, 2024 typhoon kristine hit the province of batanggas specifically Laurel with the estimated damage of 3 billion including the infrastructures, education, houses and many more. 4-5 thousand affected families are currently in division centers on laurel including the baranggay of buso-buso, publasyon 4, bugaan west and other cities in batanggas. 

“According to the reports 150 houses are destroyed with 12 deaths because of typhoon kristine and because of that some schools are being used as evacuation centers for the need families.” said Allan Rodriguez

The public cemetery in laurel is upto 50% are submerged in muds, even the paddy field are destroyed. According to the municipal councilor, local and international support are still not enough for the recovery of batanggas. 

“None of us saw it coming, we never thought that the impact of typhoon kristine is this huge” Allan Rodriguez added

The municipal councilor says with full of hope that the province of batanggas with all its municipalities and baranggays will definitely heal and recover because its people is resilient and hard working.
