An excellent, new cocktail and whisky bar sitting on the steps of King Street in Newcastle has been on top of our minds since it opened. The design of this place was stunning and the staffs really do know their drinks. Whether you are a whisky friend or a casual drinker, you can feel right at home, as it's a nice place for an evening out with friends on a very cool atmosphere.
It's got everything that you want in a bar! They have a set of interesting decor, a warm and friendly group of people, you can even see different ages chatting happily away, and then capping it all off with some 1920’s music with a little vibe of jazz and blues classics.

This has been on our list of must-visit bars after hearing many good things about the place. Whether you're a whisky fan or you’re not sure if you're one, come here! Seriously, it is a cool place and it has a variety of drinks that can't be beat, a great selection indeed.
After a quick chat with the Owner - Phil Elsley, we were known that he’s goal in putting up this bar is “to create a whisky bar where you can relax and forget about the world”, and we must say, he’s on the right track!
Babylon Newcastle provides the perfect setting for an intimate conversation, while being able to enjoy some of the best Whiskies worldwide. The place has a bit of everything and has something for everyone. Those unfamiliar with whisky would do well to pay a visit and will be surprised at the variety of flavours their bar has to offer. But for more seasoned whisky drinkers, there are more than enough choices to keep your glass topped up. They take pride in their collection of hundreds of Whiskies from all over the world, cocktails created with care, 14 different beers on tap, and a complete wine selection!
But don’t fret as it’s not just about the Whiskies, because matching their extensive drinks menu is their food offering as well. It will keep you satisfied and offer an experience you might be longing for.
